Just this week I notice an odd discoloring on one of my hondos. Pictures below any ideas?
Thanks,

Odd scars and it reminds me of bite marks, possibly a gouge from squeezing into a tight crack in the cage or decor.
I use a bit of antibiotic cream on bites and dings but if the spots fester and spread, it's more likely to be a skin infection which can be cleared up quickly with 0.12% Chlorohexidine Gluconate usually prescribed as an oral rinse after extractions or surgery. It's also available in some states at the pharmacy counter w/o a script.
If you do have to take the Chlorohex Gluconate route, swab it on daily for a week or so and when the snake sheds, the "boils" will be gone and you'll probably never see it again.
Keep the cage dry and clean and I've seen a skin infection just once and it never spread or re-occured.
Good luck with the little hondo.....Jeff

Jeff,
Thanks for the response, I am not certain that I will be able to get Chlorohex Gluconate and was thinking of trying neo sporin for a few days? I have used it in the past for other reptile related problems if this is even a problem??
It wasn't a bite or tight craw space but it almost looks as if he is going amel in those spots (like the red just came off)
Also he did spill his water dish and was in wet newspapaer substrate for roughly 24hrs but this isn't the first time he has done this and all my other hondos do this every now and again without incident..

At first I thought those were damaged or removed scales, but at closer glance, the scales look fine, is that correct?
Wet conditions for a day or two will not hurt a milksnake whose roots come from the tropics.
The genetics of these snakes is all over the place, so who knows. Cool effect if it is only a pigment thing. Hurry up and name it. Just stay away from names like extreme or ultra. The snakes are sounding like sports drinks now, and it gets annoying lol.

Anyone else have anything else I should try?
I am thinking about Antibiotic cream on one of the spots for a few days to see if it clears up, if not then I will wait till it sheds.
