Indian Star tortoise diet

Does anyone feed their star tortoises aloe? Easy to grow!

Aloe vera: Yes, I feed it in moderation to my leopard , Marginated and Greeks. I often plant it with very young tortoises, and if I go on vacation and skip some feedings, they will often eat it down to ground level. Seems OK for food for my herd,R. Fife and J.Fife,pg. 56. 2006, says similar in book on Leopard tortoises and says S. African leopards eat a lot of it. I notice the SD Zoo plants a lot of Aloes in various reptile enclosures.
