MOTHER OF GODD!!!

What does it mean when you have a male and female paired up and they start sliding around their tub like crazy smacking themselves into the side of it? It almost seems like a mating ritual, because they arent biting or hurting each other, almost looks like they are just constantly rubbing their tails together, and no they are not locked up. Whats going on here? should I leave them alone? PLEASE HELP!

I think you may have 2 males as well, sounds like they were fighting.

I'm really sorry for laughing, but that is hysterical!

I thought i had a female a few years back. turned out she was a he. i put my male albino in with "her" and it sounded like summerslam in the tub. Turned out the smaller male was freaking out. This was all before i could probe/pop.

Had the same thing happen with a pastel I bought as a female but had never bothered verifying the sex on it.
Put "her" with a male and all hell broke loose in the tub.
I probed her and sure enough, it was a male.

I`ve had this happen a few times over the past few years and i just separate them. I have one male Pastel in particular that is real finicky about his girls. I put a large girl in with him the other day and he threw one of his fits. This time i left them together and they were hooked up the next morning. I don`t know why they do it, but in my case they are positively male/female pairings.

I've had the same happen. I have this one Mojave male who goes ballistic with half the females I put in with him. He knocks over the water and hits the cage a few times...
Often, he's locked up with the female by morning.

I have a young male that last year (his first year breeding) everytime I put him in with a female he went totally bananas. He started flipping and flopping and banging around. I am not talking about a little squirming around, he banged around so violently that at times I thought he was going to hurt himself (Kinda like what I would expect an overly anxious teenage boy to act like if he was thrown into locked room with Jessica Alba). After about 5 minutes he would finally settle down and go to work. This year he seems to have grown out of it and now courts the ladies like a pro.

Yeh I didnt mean to sound so dramatic but I never had this happen before my wife and I were watching a movie and then all of a sudden, we started hearing this very loud banging, and I then realized it was coming from a rack so I ran over to it, and saw them literaly freaking out but it didnt seem like they were trying to hurt each just like they doing some kind of ritual they way they were rubbing themselves to each other. I got the supposed to be big girl off a friend of mine, and luckily if it does turn out to be a male he will replace it with a female. Im just in shock because he said he probed it that it was a definite female. He has been in the business for many years, so I took his word but I am going to attempt to pop this bad girl/bad boy right now and I will let everybody know what I find. I thank you all for your quick response. Have a safe and Happy Holiday! -Matt

......try them again.....try with different mates to be sure if possible.....you know the other guys are right, some males do sorta bump around at times...but not for long ?....maybe they can smell a different males' scent in the cage and they know the female was cheating on them before....so they throw a fit....?....really.......I haven't had this for a long time now.....I do know that male balls WILL bite other male balls and chew them up a little....I had 2 -5 plus footers together in a big cage along with 4 females, long ago....they all looked normal and would all be breeding at times .....yet there were scales all over the cage....one day upon introduction I saw the bigger big boy grab and bite the other big boy....he kept folloing him and biting him....hmmmm.....
