quick question

ryned04 Nov 26, 2008 10:57 PM

I know that balls can live for 20 plus years, but at what age will they typically stop breeding? I mean, snakes that hatched out in the 1980's aren't still laying clutches are they? When do you consider a ball python old?

P. regius can live up to 40 years (47 is the record)there is report of a 35 year old female that produced viable offspring in a zoo.

A 20 year old female is still in her prime, I'd say females over 30 are getting old.

I just heard about talking about someone having a 32 year old female laying clutches.

How long they breed depends on how often you breed them. They should not be breed every season. The more often they are bred the shorter their breeding life and life in gneral is.
