Desert Ghost Compatibility?

tristan Nov 27, 2008 12:13 AM

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if desert ghosts are compatible with other lines of ghosts such as orange ghost, yellow, butterscotch, etc.?

How many different lines of desert ghosts are there? I know that NERD has some but who else is working with them?

BTW, I think the codom (or dom) desert ball pythons are cool... which do you like better?

desert ghosts are as far as i know not another line of ghost, but a completely different morph...i copy from NERD "The Complete Ball Python":
"Genetics: Color mutation-single recessive in the first proven line. First produced: Mark and Kim Bell, Reptile Industries, 2003...The name Desert Ghost was coined to describe the fact that the snake is similar in coloration to a desert phase Californian Kingsnake with ghost ball fading"
am i right or it has since been proven that the desert ghost is another line of ghost?

If it was just another line of ghost I doubt it would cost as much as they do right now. Plus, have you seen the spider desert ghosts? I don't know of a hypo/ghost line that would produce something that incredibly awesome. The desert ghost is definitely more than just a hypomelanistic morph. I want one more than any other base morph out there.

can you direct me to a picture of the spider desert ghost?

thanks

Damian,
I saw that the spider was desert but the car was labeled desert ghost car.Is that car for sure a desert car or is the label on the site correct? If you look at the whole album..he does have a desert ghost.
Are you breeding straight up desert ghost poss hets or are you working on any desert ghost combos ?

Hey guys the desert ghost carmel looks nothing like Mark and Kims Carmel Desert Ghost. I could be wrong it is labeled carmel desert ghost if so I apologize. But to answer your question Im working with a 100% het desert ghost from Prehistoric Pets that produced 4 females last year. The largest girl is just shy of 1000 grams and the smallest is about 500 grams so by next breeding season I know that at least one should go for sure. And shes the one that has the "markers" that her father has.

I did a search and found that same album and in the one I found the label on the list called it a car desert ghost het..so that is the difference.do you know where I could see the pic of the real deal?
Good luck on your desert ghosts.
