MOJAVES?

mugencrx Nov 28, 2008 02:55 AM

Sitting here and I realized that I have no idea on what combination of morphs it takes to make a mojave. Still new to this world, please help. Thanks -Matt

The mojave is a co-dominant trait (like a pastel). You need a mojave to make a mojave. If you have an animal that possesses two copies of the mojave gene, then you have a BEL (which will occur 25% of the time, statistically, when you cross a mojave to a mojave). Hope this helps.

when you said create a bel, does this mean a bel pastel? So if I cross a male mojave to a normal female I have a 50 percent chance of making mojaves? Thanks for ur time. -Matt

BEL = blue eyed leucistic. Mojave x normal = 50% mojave and 50% normal.

okay I got it now, thanks everybody for responding so quickly and in detail. Mojaves are now on the top of my list, for the hamburg show.

It's a good show. You'll love it, and I'll see you there

This is my male Mojave I got from Larry at Maryland Reptile Farms. I don't think he has any now, but he's the guy with all the books in the far back right corner, LoL. See you Sat.

if you cross a mojave with a mojave you get super mojaves which are white snakes with a grayish head and blue eyes, also referred as Blue Eyed Leucistics (BEL) although some people call them just super mojaves since they are not completely white (see the thread on Blue eyed Leucistics in this forum). from that cross you get a 25% of super mojaves, 25% of normals and 50% mojaves.

when you cross a mojave with a normal, you get a 50% chance of mojaves and a 50% chance of normals.
