Jungles

Herman63 Nov 29, 2008 06:19 PM

I was wanting some help understanding jungles.

How does jungle work? Like if I breed a jungle to a normal and such and also how to know if you have a jungle if it is not evident.

Thanks, Herman63

A jungle either displays the trait or it doesn't....there is no "het for jungle".......so you don't have to worry about it being hidden.

Jungle is a line-bred trait, so if you bred two jungles together then the offspring would most likely display a high degree of jungle traits and patterns.

If you were to breed a jungle and a normal together, then the offspring can be expected to display a mixture of both parents' traits.....that is, more jungle than a normal and less jungle than the jungle parent.....sort of an average.

...........however, due to increaser-decreaser alleles, there is a possibility that th offspring may display more of the jungle traits than both parents or even display no jungle traits at all.

This is very similar to humans and their offspring's height....you would expect that the son of a 6-foot man and a 6-foot woman would be around 6 feet, but sometimes they have a kid that maxes out at 5'9".............on the opposite side, sometimes thay have a kid that reaches 6'7".

It's really just luck.....the best thing to increase your chances are to select parents that display the highest degree of that morph's trait.

(NOTE: this selective breeding process does not work for recessive traits like albino, luecistic, patternless, and blizzard)
