URGENT - My Boa has a large GROWTH

tomsey Nov 30, 2008 06:06 PM

Hello.
This Albino female is 6 years old and about 8 feet long.

I noticed this growth recently and have two pictures taken 9 days apart.

The first pic was taken 11/21/08
The second pic, with the fingers, was taken today 11/30/08
It has grown considerably in the last 9 days.
The growth is about the size of my fingernail (not the thumb or pinky) and sticks out almost 1/4 inch.

Any ideas what this may be and possible treatment that will be required?

Thanks for your help.

The growth is located about 2/3 down the body and is on her side just about where the side and belly meet.

Wow, I've never seen anything like that before.
Of course the typical thing to recommend, and I do, is a trip to a vet if it's possible. Hopefully you have an exotic/reptile experienced clinic nearby...

Looks like some sort of abcess or tumor and IMO clearly needs veternary care - quick!

I notice the first pics shows scales being forced apart that are being enveloped in the second pic.
