Alternative night viewing suggestions.

Omnivorous Dec 01, 2008 09:45 PM

I need some ideas on an alternative night viewing light sourse. On my terrariums for my leopard geckos I have a small 15 watt red night bulb thats 1.5-2 feet above the terrrarium. I dont use the light for heat just turn it on for an hour or two at night to view my leos. I recently got a vision cage and it does not have the fluorescent light fixture capability. Becides takeing a fluorescent light and haveing it rest outside on the cage vent what are some options on a viewing system at night. I only would use it an hour or 2 a day and heat is not necessary. I thought of getting some little red led strips but they all seem to run off of 12V car batteries. I saw some little mini black light fixtures but i think i read somewhere that those are bad for their eyes. Any ideas or help?
