sad news

In the end two exotics vets and one herp specialist said there wasn't much we could do for poor little Grendel. We could put her on a 6 month stretch of antibiotics but there was no way she was ever going to get back those bones in her spine that were no longer there. The prognosis was not good at all even after all that expense and time. She would never be able to jump or walk properly without her toe pads sticking to everything and holding her back. Since it happened we had put her in a low container with plants and a few hides. She just sat in a crumpled pile with her legs stuck out behind her. That was no way for an arborial animal to live. We decided that the best thing for her was to put her down. We took her to the vet last night and had it done. As I handed her over to the vet I cried like I hadn't before over a pet. It is amazing how these little guys get into our hearts.

She is now in Gecko Heaven, hanging around on the tallest branches of the tallest tree she could find. We'll miss you sweet little girl.
