Off Topic, But Pretty Cool

I went to Santa Cruz Sunday afternoon just to recharge my batteries and was astonished at the size of the waves at one of my favorite surfing spots, known as "Steamers Lane".

This was by far the biggest surf I have ever seen at Santa Cruz during calm waters.

The photos were taken with my hand held Olympus digital. I want to apologize for the quality of the photos, but the action was taking place about 300 to 400 yards off shore and the sun was just about to set. The locals were saying the biggest waves of the day were 20 to 25 feet tall.

To stay on track I thought I'd post a photo of my albino motley courting an 8 1/2 foot 30 pound normal female BCI. The female boa who I call big mama was purchased from Brett Thacker a little over a year ago.

To all a great season.

SAWEEET! I would never surf on those kind of waves but witnessing the sheer power of the ocean is amazing. My first visit to Maui I ended up at Jaws on my last day watching 30' waves......Those are cool pics. Dig you get out and ride a few??

Brett:

I haven't surfed in many years, but I sure enjoyed the show. The surfers were very good and rarely saw a wipe out.

Take care

Hey Brian, great stuff! You can easily see that a few of those waves are triple OH! The kind of surf we dream about over here in Florida.

Thanks for sharing!
