The other day I noticed one of the eyes on my JCP had a little gray circle around it's eye, i thougth he was about to shed. upon closer observation it looked swollen. i couldn't find any mites on the snake. does anyone know what this could be???? HELP!

It's possible that he retained an eyecap in a previous shed and is starting to get a little bacterial infection.

That is a possibility b/c he has not shed since i have had him. i'm also not sure that i wouldn't have noticed an old spectical, unless they are really hard to see. i was also considering a mite problem, although i have no idea how he got mites???? thanks oldherper for the response!
