Can't get him to eat

4henry Sep 08, 2003 05:10 PM

I have a Columbian Redtail Boa and he will not eat his pinky. He ate last on Saturday the 30th and I got him on Friday the 5th. Hes very active and seems all around healthy, he just won't eat at all. I've tried just leaving him in a covered cage, soaking the mouse in chicken broth, and feeding tongs...
- any suggestions?

He may not be ready to eat yet.. Thats only 6 days... Try giving him ten days between meals.. thats the recommended schedule for BCI's and BCC's..

Most baby redtails I am familiar with would be eating hopper mice, not pinkies. Try a slightly larger food item. Often snakes will ignore food items that are too small.
