'08 Pucallpa, Peru boas and more..

riobravoreptiles Dec 04, 2008 02:10 PM

.. photos from just now, outside in full-natural light...
.

.

.
.. that is a Pucallpa, Peru redtail, F2 of wild-collected. It was born here this summer, and it's parents were born here over six years ago. It displays an odd combination of hypo-melanism plus some traits of the blood boas. These are side-by-side comparison shots of a normal Pucallpa redtail of that litter next to that one..
.

.

.
.. this is another of that litter..
.

.

.

.
.. and this was another standout..
.

.
This next is a recent photo of their mother, a large 'normal' Pucallpa, Peru redtail.
.

.
This has been an interesting and rewarding long-term project... with no end in sight.
.
Thanks!
.

Chris just let me know I'll be getting the little girl from him next Wednesday. That litter is greatest litter of Peruvians with or without the Hyper pigmented ones.

Thanks for sharing the photos!

Take care,

Kevin

Gus, you have hands down the nicest Peruvians! My word I can't believe the color on the hyperpigmented babies!!! I hope these compliments don't raise the price on the next litter LOL...

Be well.

Pigmented Peruvians? How come John J is calling his Hyper Pigmented all of a sudden? Are they related to your line? I thought the Peruvians that he is selling run along the lines of Hyper Melanistic! He didn't breed them right? Those where bred bred by Mike Blast.

Ash, the Hypers that I have are not from Blast.

They are from someone else and they are as real as Gus's and totally unrelated.
