TEAKWOOD* black mt.tort

emysbreeder Dec 04, 2008 03:58 PM

Something a little different for a Black Mt.Tortoise.I've always had two light colored male M.e.phayrei (Burmese Black)that bred but the babies always looked like the black females. When he was bred back to a female they produced, I got these. I'm always told their just boaring black tortoises. Well not anymore! There is a pic of normal new born in the group shot.Just more confushion with the common names of this species! Hybred...dont even go there! It took 13 yrs. What do you think? Vic

I really look forward to seeing these exceptional teak colored tortoises as they mature. Having an opportunity to see them personally the other day, you definately know they are different. What I saw is a tribute to many years of captive breeding and the elusive reward comes in a rare "Gem" like these light colored e. phayrei. Congratulations Vic-----Richard
