beaked snake size?

earth_intruder Dec 05, 2008 12:39 PM

I just ordered a red-spotted beaked snake (Rhamphiophis rubropunctatus) online, and I'm having a great deal of trouble finding information on them. What little info exists is mostly on rufous beaked snakes!

I'm assuming the care for both beaked snakes is similar, but I was wondering if anyone knew how large the red-spotteds get. I've heard anywhere from 5 to 9 feet!

If anyone here has kept them, I'd welcome any other tips as well. Thanks!

You might want to check out the article on Beaked Snakes in the December 2008 issue of "Reptiles" magazine.

Yeah, the article describes rufous beaked snakes but not red spotted beaked snakes, unfortunately.
