Question

HyperToViper Dec 06, 2008 03:47 AM

I just got this girl yesterday, And I was wondering if anyone could help me identify it's origin, or point me in the right direction. I was simply told it was a 1yr old female Red Tail Boa. She has really light coloration.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

im not an expert but it might be a salmon boa

Its a normal type Colombian with light coloration and symetrical saddles. It's a nice looking Boa, but not a Salmon.

do you see a difference in this boa pictured above compared to the one shown here because i was told this was a suriname/salmon boa, which they kind of look a like dont you think?.

That boa you just pictured above is a hypo and looks to have some BCC influence. Salmons are Rich Ihle's bloodline of hypo boas so if it is related to them then yes it is a salmon. The first boa you pictured is definitely not a hypo nor a BCC, it's a normal BCI type boa.

Looks like a normal BCI (probably Colombian as Morgan's Boas stated) to me too; great coloration. You also appear to have a hot rock in there, which I would get rid of ASAP. They are poor heating devices, but great at burning boas! Get a cage made for a snake (Boaphile, Animal Plastics, etc) and run Flexwatt or other undertank heating.
