I have read about brbs on care sheets but i really want to hear personel stories of your pets temprament. Should this be a factor in getting or not getting this beautiful snake? Thanks.

I just got a pair of baby BRB's about a week ago. Tonight I just got them to eat. First time I tried. They both took 3 pinkies each right from my fingers. They're great feeders and perfect temperaments. Not aggressive in any way whatsoever. I've kept so many different species of snakes but never these. I've been interested in them for a very long time though and now that I finally have some, I'm so happy with them. These are awesome snakes. I just got my first Epicrates, a cuban boa, a month ago and she constantly refuses food and is very shy. But I'm betting that's from stress. And hopefully she'll come out of it soon. I really like her too but there is nothing I could possibly complain about with the BRB's. Also, the male is a nice orange and the female is a rich purple. They're just awesome. That's all I can say. One of the most interesting snakes, in my opinion. I'd highly recommend them if you're ready to meet their relatively easy, but precise requirements. Good Luck.

Of the three that I've had (I know, limited number), they've all been nippy especially as juviniles. Once you get them out of the cage they calm down some but I'm still more watchful of them than my rat snakes or kings. They've got longer teeth than my rat snakes I'd not like to get bit by. Knock on wood but I haven't been bit by a BRB yet, though not for their lack of trying. I find a hook is the best way to remove them from the cage. They are lovely and when they're out of their hides, nice to observe. The Colombian Rainbow I had was a much calmer snake. He never bit and was a pleasure to handle.
Just my experience, by no means am I an expert on BRBs!

Most of my BRB's have been slightly nippy as babies and then settled down fast. One has been as sweet as a ball python since he was born, never bitten or even got into a defensive position, not head sensitive AT ALL (you can pat him on the head like a dog), amazing little boa overall. Others have been very sweet but quick to get angry if you annoy them. It varies, but basically BRBs seem to be very sweet, tame boas 99% of the time, but not shy at all and will strike you if you provoke them.
