Leo in bad health HELP NEEDED ASAP!!

joshbrees May 24, 2003 08:02 AM

I have an adult male hypo leopard that is getting preaty thin. He hardly eats ( I offer him everthing: crix, mealworms, waxworms, butterworms, silkworms). He had been living with 3 females but I had to take him out because he stoped eating and only wanted to breed. I thought he would start eating again once by himself but he hasn't. I'm worried that I might lose him if he doesnt start eating soon so I started giving him some nutrient paste. Input on why hes doing this and/or how to get him feeding again would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Josh

I had a similiar situation happen to me with a bliz het. I really don't know what causes this. One thing I didn't try was cooling him down a little bit. Not sure if it would work but something tells me maybe if a male leopard thought hey was in the fall or nearing winter he might start feeding better. Just my hunch. I would definetely keep him very hydrated even if it meant removing his dry hide. Hope maybe some of this will help.
