Took a trip back to Florida for Daytona and did some road hunting. I forgot how much I love finding these on the road. Took the bite and the musking with a big smile on my face. I love the feel of a wild rat snake, they are never the same in captivity. Close but different. Maybe it is their distrust and fear that makes them contract differently...

Lord, I miss Florida! Especially, tonight when the temps in the mid 30's & the wind blowing 40 mph. As well as light snow coming in from the west..

One of the animals I can usually count on to find while herping is a yellow rat. They can vary quite a bit too so it's always cool to see 'em.
