YT Eggs are Yellow!

BrianSharp Dec 10, 2008 09:10 PM

For those not familiar with YT eggs, they are in fact yellow, not white. The two photos are somewhat washed out by the flash, but the two eggs in the upper right of the close up photo most closely approximate the true color of the eggs.

They also have the coarse, granular texture that is characteristic of fertile Dry eggs. The eggs are smooth and pliable when laid, but fertile ones quickly develop the rough sandpaper-like surface as they dry and become firm. Just another cool aspect of our beloved Drys!

Great looking clutch Brian! Looks like I may be getting my request for next spring?! So infretile YT eggs won't develop that texture?
