Day Lighting??

viper699 Dec 10, 2008 10:34 PM

So I have been thinking of putting up a light over the tank just for a normal photo period. The room my snake is in doesn't get proper light. I have seen all sorts of new compact fluorescents, even in pet stores now.

What type of lighting would people suggest for my ball. Previously my snakes had natural sun light shining in..but now this new room is dark.

I don't need a lamp for heat. That's takin care of.

Thanks in advance.

In the wild, balls spend most of their time in burrows. Lighting is not necessary at all.

And techniclly they are nocturnal so the only lighting necessary would be soley for observation by you.

Exactly, I only have a night heat light so I can barely see them when the room's light is off.

I know this....but this room is completely DARK during the day. hah...some light would be nice...so any ideas w/regard to my original question?

Well if you want light for simply for observation, I'd recommend getting a florescent bulb. They really bring out colors and give off little to no heat at all.
