Now that is some funny stuff. Hell, my wife might even laugh at that photo!

Her WC mom and the clutch. She was the last one to hatch and has the best white of the clutch.

Amazing how they fade as they get older but then I better not talk.

Looking forward to go back out this spring

Thanks Dell
Dell is that a intergrade gentilis/syspila ? It seems to have retained its orange red very well.
Also Dell, I envy you because your the only guy i know that can find multistrada while out on fishing trips, and get paid for it to boot.

Thanks for the information. So the Kansas milks do not get near as big as easterns huh? The little guy I got from you is eating fuzzy mice now but he is still pretty small. Just has a big appetite!

terryd Dec 11, 2008 08:26 PM

Joe,
I don't have any scale shots, but here are a few Kansas gentilis that were in the 20" to 24" class size.

Those are pretty. I like the way Kansas milks look. I have never seen a hatchling and can only assume they are tiny and hard to feed!

terryd Dec 12, 2008 02:23 PM

Well Joe,
I've found that most NA (North American) milks are not that hard to get started eating. Sometimes scenting pinks w/ lizard/gecko parts is needed, but often just a cut off pink head will get a neonate feeding.
For the tough feeders that you do run across you will need to force tails on, but thats kind of a labor of love if you know what I mean.

Dell, I love that lower photo my friend. You guys are making me feel like a lazy sh-t!! Guess I am going to have to get out the camera and take photos of my little collection soon. Hell, I only have thirteen snakes. Oh, but there is a snake show in Northern Virginia tomorrow. Uh oh!!

terryd Dec 12, 2008 05:54 PM

Looking forward to seeing what you bring home w/ you from the show Joe.

My daughter wants an eastern king of her own. Whatever I get will most likely result in no action in my bedroom for a while!! She is not going to be happy because I know I won't be able to control myself. I was thinking of getting a pair of AZ mountain kings!! We will see.

Sunherp Dec 12, 2008 03:30 PM

Adults are in the 20-30 inch range, most of the time. Here's an adult:

And a sub-adult:

And an angry Crotaphytus (that's what happens when you wake them up):

Thanks for the info Cole. That lizard looks a little pissed at you! My female eastern milk is about 33" long and my male about 28", so maybe they are not that differnt in size. I have a pretty male Kansas milk I got from Doug Lindsay over the summer. He actually gave me a breeding pair but the female got some crazy illness and died. I took her to the vet but she died the next day. I still feel bad for not taking her sooner. Anyway, both were small and the male is still little for a three year old. People say 300 grams for breeding size and I just did not see these getting that big.

joecop Dec 11, 2008 03:22 PM

Was wondering when you were going to post some new photos of the little guy! Very nice.

snake_bit Dec 11, 2008 04:20 PM

Im out on sick leave after having elbow surgery.I tore my distal biceps tendon(elbow) trying to lift a heavy tree branch into the pickup truck. So you may be seeing a lot of me here.
