Field Herping Minnesota in December

Spiny Softshell Turtle habitat along the Watonwan River near Madelia in sunny sub-tropical southern Minnesota. (Didn't see any today, though)

...one nice thing about field herping around here this time of year: you don't have to constantly look down at the ground all the time. And actually have an opportunity to look up at the sky and see some Birds!

Maybe if you lay some boards or tin out you'll have better luck?

..My area of north central Texas looks very similar today. Not many herps though. LOL
