cthuleo Dec 11, 2008 10:37 AM

Genetics question: What would I get by breeding a Purple Albino Male (normal) to a Female Sunfire Het Albino?

Also, what % would I be looking at from this pairing?

Albino x sunfire = 50% sunfire 100% het albino and 50% normals 100% het albino

Albino x sunfire het albino = 50% sunfire albino and 50% albino normals

You would get:
Albino sunfire's
normal albino's
sunfire het's
and normal het's.

Since your breeding an albino to a 100% Het albino 50% of the clutch should be albino, also since the sunfire gene is present you'll get 50% of the clutch as sunfires but because it is a co-dominate trait along with the recesive albino gene you'll get norm. hets also.
25% albino sunfires, 25% sunfire 100%Het albino, 25% Albino, and 25% normal 100%Het albino.
Hope this helps.
