Need help getting balls to breed

hiimsteveduh Dec 11, 2008 08:56 PM

I was breeing my female normal to a male normal (600 grams) but got offered a really good deal on a 1 1/2 year old male pinstripe (450 grams) So decided to breed him to her instead. My normal male hooked up with her 4-5 times. But The new male seems completly uninterested in her. Im cycling the temps and everything and my female relases pheromones when i put them together but they still just arn't breeding. Why might they do this?

"my female relases pheromones"? Never heard they were supposed to do this. Is the pinstrip producing plugs?

you ever thought about.......maybe the male just isn't interested?

you can't force him to do anything, when he is ready he will be ready.

How long have you had the Pin? The above answers are possible reasons. He may not be settled in yet. Also read the post above about quarantine new animals. That not only makes sure the animal is healthy before breeding but it gives the new male a chance to settle in and relax. Also if you want pin babies keep the normal away from the female, he may have already done the deed but maybe not. If you get no babies this year then all of your animals will be in even better shape for it next year.

you know, when you put the pythons together the female lifts her tail and relases all this liquidy stuff that smells a lot, thats the pheremones.
