Collecting C. Pectinata

Manny Sep 08, 2003 08:48 PM

Here is a pic of one of the many pectinatas I caught this week. She was across a canal on the bank when I saw her along with a bunch of others. I swam across with my noose and caught her and another. I missed a 4 ft Male that had the same patterns and a Female that was 80% white. I called her Snow white and I'll be back for her this week end. I also saw a Banana phase but they were very shy and retreated into their hiding places when I approached them.

Hope you like the pics. There are some more in the lizard classifieds if you want to see more.
I'll post more pics of weird looking pecs if I catch them.

mainly trying to find out , yes or no , if there are populations of actual C. pectinata ( a lot of people have gotten it wrong for years) other than the known population off Old Cutler Rd. There is a book in the works covering the introduced herps of Florida and additional info would be helpful.

thanks

There are a bunch of C. similis down there but not a lot of pockets of C. pectinata. Are these coming from the population off of Old Cutler?
