Chart for rat and mouse feeding sizes for BPs?

MightyPython Sep 08, 2003 09:17 PM

I was wondering if their is a chart out there somewhere for ball pythons and feeding sizes they can handle? Like, it could recommend size of prey (mouse or rat) depending on the size of the BP, etc. I have a 26 inch BP right now and would like opinions on that as well. I fed him a large adult mouse last week but wonder if that was enough or not. Would like to get into feeding him rats since I hear they are more nutritious than mice, so recommendations on rat sizes for a 26 inch BP would be appreciated. This all all f/t of course, if that even matters as far as size is concerned. Thanks!

my boyfriend ball is around 24 and is feeding her small to medium rats, and she takes them down find, but only if she wants it.

Is it fed one, once a week? Just curious what their feeding schedule is on that? That's actually what I wanted to know when I asked the question originally, just probably didn't phrase it right. I'm not sure exactly how big each rat is to know what to feed my BP. Maybe I'll try medium sized rats and see what happens. I'm feeding him large adult mice right now and think he could take something a little bigger. He's not skinny but he's not as big around as a lot of the ones I see on here either. OK, thanks for the advice.
