POOP!!! Need some advice....

bigguykev36 Sep 08, 2003 09:23 PM

hey I was just wondering, do your leos poo little chunks of what look like bits of shell and exo-skeleton of crickets and mealies? or are my leos not digesting properly? Also, there was one poop by my fat female that looked almost like a whole cricket, the head was visible at the end of the poop and the rest looked digested, but was still kinda like a skeleton of a cricket. But that poo had the little white thing with it and everything. Basicly it looked like a normal poo in the shape of a drowned, wet, almost totally digested cricket...

SO I was just wondering, is this normal? Or should I "keep and eye on them"? sometimes there are more chunks than in others, but i'll stop feeding as much because I heard that over feeding can result in undigested food. So Maybe that's what I need to do, but if you have any suggestions, or have had a similar experience please post!

...most likely the leos are regurjitating the food, other than digesting it.

Well, since you said the cricket looked (for the most part) digested, I wouldn't worry. I see bits and pieces of bug shell in my leos' poop, and I figure it's like when people eat corn or something. (heh)

I have seen this sometimes. Especially when feeding larger crickets. I believe sometimes they just don't digest all the chitlin completely. Poop looks solid but if you let it set awhile it will surprisinly hold alot of skeletal remains.
