i have a 3 month old bearded dragon and it was acting strange. She is sticking her nose in the sand, and shaking her head back and forth. When she was on the pearching, she was haging over shaking her head looking like she was going to throw up. What could be causing this?

What are things like your temps and you cage info temps might be to low. She may not be digesting food. ONe of many possibilities.

that is under her basking spot.the ambient temp is about 70 or75

thats low.... your basking spot should be like 105ish as high as 110 and the ambient air should be like 80s...

ok thank you

Ambient (air temp) on the hot side should be high 80's to 90. basking spot (surface temp.) should be as mentioned 105-110.

MimC85 Dec 14, 2008 03:36 PM

Definately the temps need to be higher.

Also, what are you using to measure the temps? If you are not sing a digital thermometer with a probe then you may be getting inacurate readings of the temps. Before you try to adjust temps - make sure you are using a digtial therm - you can secure the probe to the basking spot to get a proper reading.

i agree w the others on temps, i also worry about a 3 month old being on sand, i personally dont even keep adults on sand, to much risk for impaction
