A light day...

Jonathan_Brady Dec 17, 2008 08:30 AM

The female was REALLY showing a light phase today with regards to the level of pink in her body color. I decided to put her in with my holdback male to illustrate some differences.

Here's a decent pic of the male to use as a baseline:

Here are the two together:

A little tighter:

I find it interesting how VERY different the lateral "badges" are between the two. The female has several very blurred badge with no well defined center whereas the male has extremely well defined center badges with little to no blurring. In addition, the females saddles are showing less contrast with the body color than the male, who shows EXTREMELY distinct and bold saddles and facial markings. To me, the female has a very "pastel" look (I just cringed when I wrote that because of the overuse of the term "pastel".

They both have beautiful laddertails!

Thanks for looking!

Those two will be producing some highly sought after babies one day. I also noticed how well defined the males sear point markings are compared to hers, both terrific animals you should be proud.

Jonathan I have to say that that line of yours has the best qualities most(at least me)look for in guyanas and surinams. Nice clean backgrounds, great peaks, bright red tails, light white tail background color and they show lots of purple to be such a young age. Beautiful boas!!!

It will be interesting to see a comparison as adults.
I'm seeing a lot more of the lighter brighter pinker female Bcc than of the males, from you guys lately.
Seems counter intuitive. Do you think that's normal with Guyanan and Suriname?
