...that females gain a significant amount of weight in the last few months of the year?
I noticed, or maybe it is wishful thinking, that my females pack on a good couple hundred grams (300-700) in just the last 2-4 months of the year. I acquired 3 normal females weighing about 1200 grams last fall and by winter, 1 was at 1800 grams and 2 at 1500. This year, I acquired a 1500 gram mojave female and 1600 gram pastel female in late summer and they are well into the 2000 range during their weigh-in earlier this month. I also have another pastel female that weighed 1200 in the summer and is at 1900 grams now.
My feeding schedule is the same for all of them and all year around.. offering food once every 5-7 days as my schedule permits. There were no significant differences in their quarterly weigh-ins from winter to spring and spring to summer.
Considering that all these females are 06 or younger, is there an age/weight that triggers a growth spurt, and it just so happens to be the end of the year for me?
