help! gross question...

prairierose Dec 20, 2008 04:45 PM

Hey all! I just got my first ball python yesterday, and when picked him up the breeder warned me that he was about to go to the bathroom because the end of his tail was swollen and he had eaten a few days ago. We could see the calcium deposit part in his cage, but he did not make good on the rest of it until about twenty minutes ago, and, well...it seems to be stuck. Is it normal for a snake to be constipated when switching to a new environment? Is there something I should do? He's just crawling around his cage with it hanging out a little bit. Help!
Thanks!

Soak it in a tub of water!

Ditto, but usually it doesn't happen because of stress, or it's never happened that way to me. Usually they just won't eat until they get used to being there.
