beardielover17 Dec 21, 2008 01:09 PM

i know alot of you breeders out there are breeding for reduced or no spikes/scales on the dragons but have you guys thought for breeding for larger spikes/scales on a beardie? im personally against the whole reduced/no scale thing and i find the larger spikes more attractive...just curious

Haven't heard of anybody breeding for larger scales in bearded dragons. IN fact the only larger spikes I have heard may be with crested geckos, as some do come with much larger 'crests' than normal.

I have a dragon along the lines of what you are talking about........he is different. Not extremely different, but overall he appears to have more of the larger scales on his back.

yeah as far as appearance they dont look much different but i think it looks more intimidating and "aggressive" looking with larger scales...heres my larger scaled dragon (her spikes on the side are much larger than magellan and galileos)

I was about to post the question, also. I think dragon with larger spikes are more attractive, too. It would awesome to breed one with large spikes!
