Woods Red Axanthics

bristen Sep 09, 2003 06:23 AM

Why are they called "Red Axanthic"? Do they have more red than other lines? I couldn't really tell from the pictures I saw in a previous thread... I don't remember seeing pictures of adults also (I suppose this is where their name becomes more obvious?)

Thanks,
Bristen.

Probably just another bogus name you see on the internet. People will call their animals something new to sell it. It's kinda ridiculous when I come on here and scan through the classifieds and see all these normals with different names every time.

Corey's Red Axanthics are NOT bogus. And I think the name does a pretty good job of describing what the animals look like. They are definatly axanthic, lack yellow, but they do seem to have a red tint to them, hence the name Red Axanthic. He has proven this gene, so how could you even think it is bogus??
They are a VERY cool axanthic line becuase they have the axanthic colors, but also have an awesome pattern. I like them better than VPI's, but I have only seen pictures.

I guess I shoulda clarified a little better. I wasn't really saying this about anyone in specific, I just want to say be careful what you read on the internet anyone can post anything they want on here, just now I saw a ball on the classifieds where the guy has it for $250 bucks just because it is dark. No genetics involved just because it is darker than most balls its about $200 overpriced. I go through 200-300 ball pythons a year and see better snakes in those groups that I sell as normals that are better than alot of the snakes sold on the classifieds just because they are colored or patterned slightly different than the norm. But I shoulda clarified I was attacking anyone in specific.

Actually, you WERE saying it about someone specifically, Corey Woods, and his (might I add) absolutely stunning Red Axanthics. I HAVE seen them in person, and they are, IMHO THE best looking axanthics out there. They are a beautiful colour, adn the pattern is mind-blowing too. So, before you go running your mouth about someone in particular, make sure that they are not a well-respected, reputable breeder.

J35J,
What is ridiculous is people that will come on a site such as this and criticize others for selling an animal and describing it as it appears. I have sold many Ball's (this year and for the last 6 years) that some people call normals and other say they are something. I saw that ad and The animal that is being sold by that person. That seller is not making any claims that the animal is genetic but rather darker than normal. I have sold dark/Melanistic animals for more money than that and my customers were ecstatic about them when they received them. What gives you the right to say what another person can sell an animal for? Any seller can price an animal at what ever price he/she wants and if someone agrees that the animal is worth it they can purchase it. I import 1000+ Balls directly myself (every year)and I see quite a few animals that come in looking different than normals. How do you think all the morphs that are out there were dicovered to be genetic? Someone saw then come in as an import and proved them out. There will be quite a few new morphs color mutations coming available in the next few years from animals imported this year.
Besides the point, Corey has proven his Red Axanthic line as GENETIC. You were in fact making it sound like his animal was a made up name and was nothing when in fact it is a genetic proven morph. Maybe in the future you might want to keep your smart-alec comments to yourself unless you have documented proof because all it does it make you look like an ass.

I guess what we need is pictures of adult red axanthics.. Think you can help us Corey?

Thanks,
Bristen.

Ralph Davis has the only Red Axanthic that Corey doesn't own. Go to Ralph's 'Birthing Page' and scroll down to the Red Axanthics, the pics will blow your mind.

Look at the beginning of this thread, the original post from Corey, and you can see a picture of an adult Red Axanthic.
