I live in Mims the scarlet kings were caught in scottsmoor up near the volusia brevard line. These are two I hatched a few years ago.

I've had pretty good luck with getting
Scarlet Kings from the Sanhills region of North Carolina
on rodents. The newborns usually start off on Ground
Skink scented pinky parts and then take off on unscented.
There has been the occasional slow starter that I have to
force feed fuzzy tails to, to get started.

All gorgeous snakes. I have been hoping to come across some S. Florida locale, but haven't had any luck so far. All I ever find are ringnecks and racers. I didn't grow up here. I can find a western rattlesnake in E. Washington state in about 5 minutes, but that doesn't do me much good in S. Florida.

unfortunately, mine is unsexed at this point, and I don't know how to check em. Unless you can tell something from the pic or have a suggestion on how to photograph it if that'll help identify?
