A little concerned

tj_sa1816 Dec 25, 2008 02:56 PM

So i just learned that the person that was supposed to watch my dragon this holliday season cant make it and i am already out of town the Powersun uv bulb has been on since tuesday I will be home tomorrow by 10am. My concern is the three days with a light and 0 food I am really upset with the "sitter" but more upset that the dragon might not even be alive when i get home. Are bulb explosions common and if it over heats and turns off will it stay off. I have never even left him for more than an 8 hour work day.
Thanks,
Tanner

The use of timers are very beneficial to have, as you can set them to turn lights off and on even when you are not at home. As for the food, dragons are ok with a few days without food, if they are adults. As it is, there isn't anything that can be done till you get home, unless you can call a more reliable friend to check on your dragons.

I dont know why anyone would have a setup for any dragon and not have everything on a timer. They should not only be on a schedule, but it makes it easier for you. If the bulb goes off from heat, it will turn back on. To be unattended for that period of time, I would be concerned just to have this stuff on for risk of fire. Maybe you can find someone else to go and check on things, and turn off the bulb. I think it would be much safer for a couple days to leave the bulb off.
