Pics from today

Jonathan_Brady Dec 26, 2008 01:12 PM

I've found that although I have live view on my DSLR, I rarely use it. For one, it only works in certain modes, but two, I feel the viewfinder does a better job of allowing me to frame the shot and focus properly.

Anyway, on with the pics!

Male Guyana BCC from this year

His contrast is my FAVORITE thing about him

Female from this year

Being the color freak that I am, her color is my FAVORITE thing about her! But her pattern is near perfect too! Much like her brother

Thanks for looking!
Hope everyone is having a great holiday season!

...are you using? Mine is an EOS 20D, altough it has no liveview mode, I guess the viewfinder is much more useful in general...

That's a very pretty Guyanan redtail!

Adam,
What locality is that boa?

Dan Eby

AdamBotond Dec 26, 2008 07:12 PM

Dan,
She's a Tumbes boa (Boa c. longicauda) at age 3. Last summer I took some outside shot...

All the best,
Adam

Anery as well

AdamBotond Dec 26, 2008 07:27 PM

I didn't consider her as an anery. But like most Tumbes boas, she has very few (practically invisible) red pigments.

daneby Dec 26, 2008 08:22 PM

Thanks.
I thought she might be. Shes got a cool looking head.

Man those are nice! All these pinkish Guyana boas being posted lately really makes me want some. If only I had space for more big boas.

are you using for those shots Jonathan?

up until today, I've used the stock 18-55mm stock lens.

I just received my macro lens on Christmas Eve and tried it for the first time today, so the shots above are with it. It's a 60mm f/2.8 lens by Canon.

Thanks!

JB, you will certainly be satisfied with Canon macro 60mm F/2,8. I've been using this lens for about 3-4 years, mostly for my "herp pics", and I could get some really nice shots with it.
Good luck.
