Albino Stains?

DONTshoot Dec 26, 2008 02:01 PM

Is there only 1 strain of albino blood pythons? I ask because there seems to be a variety of color phases in the albino bloods. And the boa constrictors have 2 different incompatible strains. Thanks

The type that is the most available is the T albinos. From what I understand quite a few imports have come in and have all proven compatible. The newer forms of albinos are

Red t-s a few have been imported and some CBs are available
Orange T-s none available
Lavender orange T-s none available
White headed t- none available

Much breeding will be needed to see if any of the new albino forms are in fact the same trait with more than one form. (As the bloods are really variable in the natural look) I cannot wait to see some of these forms become available due to the hard work of the breeders to get these projects going as many know WC bloods can be some of the hardest of all pythons to acclimate to captivity.

hope this helps Ryan Young

Thanks Ryan, that does help. Why don't I see any female albino or het albino in the classifieds? Is this kinda like the ball python a couple of years ago where people were keeping their albino females for breeding? Also, what would be a good price for a het albino female? Thanks, Ruben
