Beardies and Paint

AIRBOURNE Dec 27, 2008 05:58 PM

I'm wondering if it's okay for my beardie to be in the same room with someone who's painting. It's a small room, Bender's cage is pretty close to where the painting happens, like 5 feet away. There's no window open because it's taped up to save heat so there's not much ventilation but the door is open. The paints are oil based.

Is this safe for my beardie?

Thanks a lot,

Wyndham B.

I would get your dragon out of there, especially if it says on the paint can to use in a ventilated area. A ventilation poor or free room I wouldn't even want to be in the room myself.

Move your dragon and any insects or other living things in that room till you can't smell the paint anymore, so at least a few days after painting is finished.

i second that, lost a cray fish who was put in a room hrs after it was painted, the fumes went into the water, so you can asume the fumes in the air are very bad
my mom is also a crazy artist, wonder often how much of her crazy come from the fumes
