I just found some time to post some personal stuff that I thought the list might be interested in.
I want to say what a great time I had with the talk I presented at the turtle/tortoise night in Daytona. I met a bunch of folks off this list and others that reminded me why I love this hobby so much. The talks that night were attended by 200 people and was a huge success all around. If you've ever wanted to feel a little less wierd about some of the thing you do concerning Turtles and Tortoises or Herps in general, you really need to visit Daytona during the International Reptile Breeders Convention put on by Wayne Hill (and Co.)(and you thought you were strange).
Then this weekend I attended the IHS (which has been a yearly thing for me for the last 13 years). This is the International Herpetological Symposium which started as a group of hobbiests who put together this meeting to share husbandry techniques and information in general on the field of herpetology. It can be dry sometimes but it is a fantastic opportunity to meet serious herpers and professionals alike. This year they coupled it with the East Texas Herp show and it was also great. Again, I met a bunch of folks off the net and then some. (btw, anyone who is looking for some dynamite Leopards, I found this breeder of leopards that I would highly recomend)(I'll post some pictures of his animals later).
Needless to say it's been a very busy few weeks but the last 5 days was extremely relaxing (no animals to care for, no internet, lots of drinking and talking with really good people)
