Happy New year and a couple pics

natsamjosh Dec 28, 2008 09:20 PM

It's a few days early, but I've got a few quiet moments so I just wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe New Year's. Hopefully 2009 will be better than 2008. My wife and I invested heavily in an Urgent Care clinic, and luckily that has started off well. As far as snakes, not sure about getting another one in 2009. I would love to get another rainbow boa, but that might take some tough negotiations.

What's everyone else's plans for 2009?

Here are a few pics. I recently added a fake plant/tree to Mendoza's cage, tonight I found him climbing on it. I also took a couple of Jack while cleaning out his stinky cage.

Thanks,
Ed

nice pics as usual, mendoza loving his new plant, and jack looking as mean as usual.
my plans for 09, well it starts by having to work new years, but worked xmas eve and day, and boxing day, so it pretty standard.
As for snakes, hope to have the rep room all sorted out within the next few days, as its turning into a bit of chaos at the moment, with 4 rubbermaids on the ground, one of which contains one of my psycho little SD retics that escaped a few days ago (dont say it dave!!). The rep room is completely sealed, but it meant moving around a few cages, finally stuck my hand in a bag of substrate, and brought it back out with a retic attached to my hand. While my bite record is going well with the brbs, im certainly losing big time with the SD retics and the balls. Ive got 2 days off before new years, so hope to finish my two new racks, should each fit 8/9 tubs that i found from ikea (approx 96cmx55cmx18cm), and hope that they work out as permanent caging for all my males, and any smaller females. Also while the brbs are still growing up, the balls need bigger caging, so they will get it first.
As for new snakes, i have a few coming from the states, thanks to aubrey and dave, and possible some others, but will be after the winter now as too cold to ship, and am still waiting on some cites paperwork from USFW. Ive also got 2 very interesting brbs coming from the UK, hope to get in march, and then trading one of my big red females for a very very pale adult female orange brb i found in sweden. Talk about international relations!! at least im getting a very varied source of bloodlines from all over the place.

8am, havent been to bed yet, have to stop rambling.....

"Don't say it", how can I not say it? Nyeah!!!! secure caging is always a must or you end up using your fingers as retic "bait" !!!

brilliant pic, can imagine your face when you walked in and saw him half out of the cage. The colour on that snake is incredible.
Nah was nice enough to move the photo to my photobucket account first. Did take me an hour of sifting thru KS forums to find the pic though!! so i did put a little effort in

I was actually in the room when he decided to make a break for it. I heard a noise, turned around and there he was half out of his cage. In the short time it took to reach for the camera, he was already 3/4 out.

Now you don't have to search ever again!!

Nice pics Ed!! Mendoza looks like he's enjoying his new jungle gym!!! And Jack is Jack, photogenic as always, the lil ham!!!!

My plans are to work with what I have, got to keep new additions to a bare minimum, none would be good! I already have plenty to keep me busy!!!!
