Adult off Feed - Regurge "Update"

killerchondros Dec 29, 2008 08:55 PM

For those concerned. I took her in today. I want to first say that Dr. Rosskopf is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I wanted to stay and pick his brain instead of rushing out to take care of business.

His diagnosis is RI. Advised that she is healthy and possibly gravid based on my info, weight and inspection.

Prescribed a Amikacin injection treatment and said to keep the temps up and check for mucus in the throat in a week. If no improvement has been made, only then would cultures and blood test would be required.

Whew! Back to the classified.....Thanks to everyone who responded.

Did he culture your sample of Mucous regurge stuff ? The stuff that came out of my Boas was from their stomach not lungs.
I hope everything is ok for you. I'm glad he prescribed Amikacin either way,its good.
Thanks for the update I've been concerned.

Happy Holidays

He inspected it and was saticfied it was a result of the RI as with the mucus he saw when he inspected her throat. He did not feel the need for a culture but took it with him. The regurge and the act of seems to be a way of pushing out the build up of mucus and replicated a stomach purge.

Of course I am being very optimistic and will keep a diligent eye for any hints that her progress is not going in her favor.

I'll post significant updates as they occure...thanks Lars.

It's good to know that it's nothing too serious. Hopefully, she'll give you a nice litter of babies too.

Dr. Rosskopf really knows his stuff. He's been doing it for a lot longer than the average Herp Vet.
