I have four hatchling black rat snakes, two females from the same clutch and an unrelated male. I'd like to keep a pair so I am only keeping one female. One is very dark and one has a more contrasting pattern, how will they differ when they are solid black adults? Do you know if one will hold the pattern a little longer or will one show more white between the scales? Generally, what do most people think looks best as an ault, one with more white showing or one with more solid black?

What part of the country are the from? (What state?) Eastern Black Rats seem to be more solid black as adults. Easterns also swow any pattern as white. That is why I ask where are they from? Do you have photos of the parrents?

Eastern Black Rat, female, York Co. Va.
