Taking a cue from Christian, I decided to give this idea a try. This guy is sitting on my camera tripod (like many of my boas do) and I'm holding the camera using the external flash to bounce off the ceiling. At first I was just using the wall as a background, then I decided to pin my black velvet to it. LOVE the results!

The pics with the wall as the background turned out dark so I did lighten them in photoshop to obtain the proper color of the boa.

JB those are some DAMM nice pictures, I can tell how you are you disected that canon manual now you are mastering the camera. Great job and keep those awesome pictures coming,I could never get tired of looking at those.Also I like how you explain how you got the shot.
