Rescued milk

markg Dec 31, 2008 02:14 AM

I got a snake call from some folks cleaning out an abandoned house where 3 snakes were left behind by the departed owner. Poor things were dehydrated but OK. This is one of the two milks, after in my care for a few weeks and hydrated well.

It isn't nelsoni nor campbelli. Bands are white, belly is ringed red, blk and white as well. It is a smaller milk, more robust like annulata, but the red is cleaner than annulata I've seen. Perhaps a New Mexico milk? Awesome little dude whatever it is with a rather calm disposition for a milk (like annulata in that respect.)

Could be a celaenops. Can you get a better shot of the head? And perhaps a more detailed body shot? Where about was it found?
