...is apparently a baby Brown Anole. I took him to a Naturalist friend, then to another pet store, where I got him some new tinier crickets which hopefully he'll eat before they turn on him...!
I'm still figuring out the lighting. my setup is a little 1 gallon plastic pet tank with an overhead opening. so far the only workable lamp I've found is a little square deal that shines in overhead. I've also got a little half-coconut hidey home where she can duck in to get out of the heat if she wants. but so far she seems to love the heat. her favorite perch is on the thermometer on the side of the tank.
one behavior question: a couple of times I've observed her body turn black under the brown patterns. what does this mean? is it a sign of stress or overheating?
