First king of the Happy New Year!

antelope Jan 01, 2009 11:34 PM

Went out today. temps mid 80's, flipped this beauty in Nueces county, Texas. The best looking splendida I have seen in my county hands down. I will be putting the big male hypo from about 3 miles away with her this year, looking to pull the hypo/locality thing. Check out the field notes forum for other critters found today! Shovel snow? Me? No way!

Sometimes I think the kid with two pet snakes has something that those of us with 50 to 200 lost a long time ago.

Congrats, and how fun. I will be going out today, but its not so warm here, 70F. Lizards have been out, but have not seen a snake in two weeks, hahahahahahahahaha. I have not decided where to go.

My friend wants to go find cage props, and I want to find SNAKES. hahahahahahahahahaha oh and birds and mammals, and all manner of living things. Again, congrats

You are flipping boards and tin and I am putting my salt spreader on my truck for this weeks weather!! Come on Todd, your killing me. Great finds, I might be showing just a wee bit of envy. Awesome my friend.

Haha, sorry guys, don't be jealous, I would be lost trying to find kings in the tundra! J/K! Seriously, I have been trying to locate the prairie kings a few counties away but have only come up with dor's. Hopefully this will be the year of the southern prairie king for me!
