During my Rattle Snake removal days I was interested in just how long it took for a Rattle Snake to kill a mouse so I decided to see. Unfortunately all I had on hand was a young snake so I had to use a young mouse. I wander if the effects would be different on a large snake and large mouse. I doubt it.

Jason, but every bite is different.

If the fangs hit a big vessel it surelly kills faster. To control it you should inject venom just the same way and amount, either from a big one and a juvenile.

I understand that. Why is it a bite can kill a 400lb adult and barely faze a child, every bite is different. Some are dry. My video was not necessarily for educational or scientific purpose. I am actually surprised it was met with criticism as I see it no different than the hundreds of feeding pictures posted all over every forum "including above this one" that are not met with the same frowns. Oh well.

For someone that doesn't care what others think about the video, you sure do chime in a lot about it when someone has an opposing view.

I really don't, I am a nice person and do not go around looking to offend anyone so am I sorry if anyone is offended? Yes I am, am I going to loose any sleep over it? No I will not. I am not a big conspiracy theorist, watch out for the man type of person. I simply think it should be acknowledged "Which I did" that there are reasons why we loose rites "ie over collecting, habitat destruction, no common sence" I simply don't think my video belong in that category. I think my point is made, maybe not proven but made and I will leave it at that.

Believe me, nobody in King Snake will be offended by a snake killing/eating a mouse. It is an occupational hazard of keeping reptiles and we know it. A few days ago I gave a live mouse to my Vipera ammodytes because he kept refusing his frozen thawed for a few weeks. He ate and I was happy. I didn't like to see the little mouse get killed but sometimes you have to.

The problem is people posting snakes killing mice on public places like Youtube or any of its clones. This rallies ignorant folk against us and sometimes a pebble starts and avalanche.

Anyways...nice video

hmmm. I will have to make a call and see if its possible to take a video from our server and embed it on KS. KS has the box below the post for youtube videos which is nice, I am not sure if I can just put the address from a video on our server right in the youtube box at the bottom of the post but I will try in this message. If you see the video it worked, if not I will be busy on the phone lol.

I'm not a big fan of showing live feedings on forums like Youtube. In this day and age when our private rights are being taken away state by state, stuff like this is just fuel for the fire to continue to ban the keeping of reptiles. There's really no educational component to this video. Sorry, it's harsh but we have to be a lot smarter in how we project ourselveds.

I am greatly sorry if it has offended anyone and while I don't think I can remove it from the forum kingsnake is welcome to. I don't live my life worrying about what others thing, in fact I really don't care. I had a snake in layover, decided to feed it and took a video, plain and simple. Besides I think stuff like this is why most of us as children became interested in snakes. I know its why I did. I have a very healthy respect for animals like this and chose to not maintain any. I would hope our regulating officials are smarter than to ban something because of this video. In my honest opinion this is not why we get new regulations. We get new regulations on take because of wild populations, over collecting, habitat destruction "All of witch require more attention than a youtube video of a Rattle Snake eating. We also get more regulations on keep because of irresponsible people not using common sence and getting themselves or others hurt, again not because of a youtube video of a Rattle Snake eating. This are just my thoughts. I respect your opinion but again chose not to worry about others thoughts or ideologies of how life should be.

Ok I found out "at least temporarily how to stop the video from playing here. Once again I am sorry if it offended anyone. I will think twice about posting another.
