Not trying to sound rude here, but you have been working with these since 2005 and never tried to find out what a real YB looked like? I have seen some normals that I somewhat resemble lower quality YB's, but your original male is not questionable.

Here is a good link that shows a few real YB's and what to look for.

thanks for the link. i have seen intence yellow bellys and also ones that look nothing like that. this boy came from ian g so i figured i could take his opinion and my old bosses. the ghost i posted also came from him i do admit my pictures do not do any of them justice. and from what i have heard they get more intense as they are bred back. when you see this boy next to a normal you cann see a differanc when i look at my snakes i see the markers they point out no mine are not that intense but i can see them in person and somewhat in the pictures i guess ill just have to breed them back and see if i get all normals or something new or just nicer looking normals the pictures do dull them out in person they look more yellow not so brown

I wish you luck. I don't see it but I guess you just have to see what happens when bred back. I did notice on your site that they are for sale though so are you not planing on proving them?

i would love to prove them out but ive been out of work for the past 3 weeks so i figure i would put them up to try to get rent money.. i have a 08 thats spose to be a yellow belly so i figure i could raise him and breed him to the females ..
This boy is still not as intence as the pictures off of the site but he is more noticeable

The first pictures you posted I would have to say no they are just normals. The last 2 pics you posted I would say yes that is a yellow belly. It has the classic checker board pattern down its side.I have a good amount of CH Yellow Belly Females and some CH yellow Belly males, I proved them all out last year and ended up with Ivories, and they were all from Ian G. Some like you said are not as amazing as others but they all do have the classic "look". At first I never could see itbut now out of a tub of a hundred normals I owuld be able to spot the 1 yellow belly rather quickly, you develop an eye for it over time. I would suggest finding as many pictures as you can of them from different breeders and comparing, also going to reptile shows and seeing them in person helps alot, like you said pics are hard to tell sometimes. If you are ever at a show in our area stop by the table I always have different YBs from differednt lines I wouldnt mind showing you.

yeah the next world exotics page is a really good tool in helping to learn what makes a morph a morph. Nerds website has got some nice pics of a lot of different morphs as well here is the yellowbelly link: http://www.newenglandreptile.com/nerd/index.php/ball-pythons/yellowbelly-ball-python.html

Here are some pics of my male yellowbelly who is also a ringer. Hope all this helps

None of those look like YB's.

Anymore pics, we are going to start charging a fee for our Morph Identification Services

It's not the color that identifies the YB - it's the checkerboard patterning on the belly along with the flames on the side. The bellies on the ones you posted look nothing like a YB (and that has nothing to do with color).

The babies don't look like YBs, and the adult male doesn't really either but he does have an interesting look to him and a clear belly. It shows mostly in the second pic. If you've already invested this much time, it might not hurt to breed him back to one of the females (maybe #11?). Do you have full body shots of him?

im going to try to breed him back this season. there is only one girl big enough so far the others are at around 800-900 g
the pictures really do not do him justice. when i got him yellow bellys were still pretty new. i can see the differance alot of the ones i see are more noticable but people have told me its from the breeding its making them more intense so i figured mine was right from africa so maybe that was why it was not as noticable also i never seen lo0ts of small ones but no adult pictures or no wc adults. ill just hope he gives some great looking babys when bread back if they are normal or something brand new or anything ill post pictures if anything turns up. thanks for your post it was the first positive one

We got our pair of Yellow Belly (Het Ivory's) from Ryan Young and Nick Mutton of Inland Reptiles. They where offspring from WC Imports and are unrelated to each other....

Once you see lots of pictures of them and see them in person you will notice the difference between them and normals. I look at the very edge of the belly scales, Basically where the sides of the snake meet the belly, thats the best way to spot a Yellow Belly in my opinion.
